Congratulations Courtney and Brian

I got a few hours of sleep last night then woke up bright and early to start working on Courtney and Brian’s Wedding pictures! I had such a good time shooting their wedding! The poor mom of the bride was so stressed out right before the wedding and it was so nice to see her get to relax and enjoy her family and friends during the reception! The dad had us all cracking up! He reminds me a lot of my own dad with his jokester way. The groom, Brian, and all of his grooms men were enjoying the festivities and was at complete ease the entire day! Not a worried bone in him! And the bride. . . Well Courtney is absolutely GORGEOUS! You could tell that Brian and Courtney were completely in love! They were such a wonderful couple to work with! I would be honored to take pictures for them anytime!

The ceremony was held at Edwards Mansion in Redlands, CA. This is the second wedding I have shot there and I really love how organized the staff is! The wedding coordinator was a sweetheart, and the DJ played some AWESOME music. Overall it was a great night!

I just again want to congratulate Courtney and Brian and here is your sneak peak!

I'm WHOOPED!

Today was a busy day! I started out by waking up at 630am, where I put some clothes in the laundry. Then I made sure all of my camera batteries were charged and that all of my memory cards were empty! I also discovered that my hubby had stolen some of my AA batteries so I sent him to the store to buy me more while I jumped in the shower. Once I was ready it was time to go! First stop William’s birthday party! William turns TWO on March 31st! After his birthday I went home ate lunch and immediately went to Courtney and Brian’s Wedding! They are an adorable couple and I had a blast shooting their wedding! Here are a couple sneak peaks of their wedding pictures! More to come later but right now I am exhausted!

My new baby!

I will try to post more pics tomorrow along with some pics from William’s birthday party!

Obsession

I think I need to confess. . . that I have this small obsession. . . with HDR pictures! For those of you who don’t know what HDR is it basically means that you take 3 pics and combine them to give you a really freakin cool picture! I decided that I need to make HDR pictures. There is only one slight problem with that though, I have nothing interesting to take a picture of! SO just so I could get an idea of HOW to create an HDR image I took a snapshot of the “sunset”

Tonight

Bloggin is hard work

It has come to my attention that I have been slacking on my blog the last couple weeks! I have realized that blogging is NOT an easy thing to do. And as much as I love to blog between work, family, friends and being sick,I am not updating it on a regular basis! I am hoping to get back into the swing of things once my cold goes farewell!

SOOO for todays post I would like to of course share a couple fun pictures 🙂

I thought the fact that there were SO many different reflections all at once was neat and I just HAD to take a picture of it 🙂

Reflections

And I love this picture of my daughter! When we left the penguin exhibit at SeaWorld it dropped us off in the gift shop! My daughter happened to pick up this adorable little penguin and when my husband noticed that the brand name was “AURORA” he couldn’t resist her sweet little face asking please! After all it DID have her name on it lol! Well she couldn’t have been more thrilled when she realized she got to keep this furry little guy!

Daddy PLEASE

Got milk?

Yes we are crazy! Yes we got strange looks doing this! Did we care? NO! ok I didn’t but after one shot they decided they’d had enough lol My husband’s T looks more like a W what a loser lol
Got Milk?!

Why Editing is important

I took some headshots early this morning for Frank.

I have been doing the [b]school and I really liked [b]’s idea of showing before and after pictures. I am going to use this morning’s session in hopes that this will help some of my friends, family, and clients understand why editing is so important. I take pride in the pictures I take and I want to make sure that I deliver the best possible images to you. When I take a picture Straight Out Of Camera (SOOC) it is a decent shot but that extra little bit of editing can really make that picture ‘POP’.

Here is a SOOC picture not a bad picture and fine until you see the edited version

Here is that same picture edited

Now this is what happens when you take a SOOC picture and convert it to black and white using typical programs
Frank SOOC desaturate black and white

Now here is the edited version converted with a typical program. It is slightly better than the SOOC picture but it is still lacking something.

And lastly here is the edited version converted using several different methods to make a nice contrasty black and white
Frank Edit black and white remix

I think that you will all agree that the fully edited pictures are much nicer than the SOOC images. They all tend to look brighter and more lively. I hope this example shows why it takes me so long to edit your pictures 🙂
