Well I knew this day would come but did it HAVE to come today 🙁
ahhh work
Bloggin is hard work
It has come to my attention that I have been slacking on my blog the last couple weeks! I have realized that blogging is NOT an easy thing to do. And as much as I love to blog between work, family, friends and being sick,I am not updating it on a regular basis! I am hoping to get back into the swing of things once my cold goes farewell!
SOOO for todays post I would like to of course share a couple fun pictures 🙂
I thought the fact that there were SO many different reflections all at once was neat and I just HAD to take a picture of it 🙂
And I love this picture of my daughter! When we left the penguin exhibit at SeaWorld it dropped us off in the gift shop! My daughter happened to pick up this adorable little penguin and when my husband noticed that the brand name was “AURORA” he couldn’t resist her sweet little face asking please! After all it DID have her name on it lol! Well she couldn’t have been more thrilled when she realized she got to keep this furry little guy!
Got milk?
Why Editing is important
I took some headshots early this morning for Frank.
I have been doing the [b]school and I really liked [b]’s idea of showing before and after pictures. I am going to use this morning’s session in hopes that this will help some of my friends, family, and clients understand why editing is so important. I take pride in the pictures I take and I want to make sure that I deliver the best possible images to you. When I take a picture Straight Out Of Camera (SOOC) it is a decent shot but that extra little bit of editing can really make that picture ‘POP’.
Here is a SOOC picture not a bad picture and fine until you see the edited version
Here is that same picture edited
Here is the same picture edited
Now this is what happens when you take a SOOC picture and convert it to black and white using typical programs
Now here is the edited version converted with a typical program. It is slightly better than the SOOC picture but it is still lacking something.
And lastly here is the edited version converted using several different methods to make a nice contrasty black and white
I think that you will all agree that the fully edited pictures are much nicer than the SOOC images. They all tend to look brighter and more lively. I hope this example shows why it takes me so long to edit your pictures 🙂
Lazy Sunday
Well not really, I have been cleaning almost ALL day! I stopped by my parents house this morning to pick up my order of Girl Scout Cookies YUM! They must have given me a sugar high, because as soon as I got home I started cleaning!!! I have a lot to do and only 30 days to do it. My friend is going to be moving in with us and I need to clear out the room she is going to be staying in. Sadly I haven’t gotten around to that part of the house yet! I did the living room, kitchen and a TON of clothes folding. Once I get all of the clothes off of my bed I plan to get rid of our bed and use the bed in the spare bedroom. Overall there is just a ton to do. Who knew renovating a house would be so much work! 😉
Anyway I just wanted to share a couple snap shots of my kids today 🙂
So much for being in trouble!
Time outs seriously do NOT work in my house! My little ones ban together! Originally I stuck Rory in the corner but shortly after I would find Logan crawled up right next to her playing with her. So I decided that I would start putting her in Logan’s play pen for time out. Well so much for that idea!
3 and up my butt!
This toy says 3 and up! 3 years and up my butt! Honestly what makes a toy 3 and up? Is it the fact that babies are likely to choke on small pieces?? Because this toy has NOTHING detachable!? Is it due to the fact that they figure it takes a child with 3 years of intelligence to figure out how to make the gadgets move? Because my soon to be 9th month old has got it all figured out. So I am sitting here contemplating what makes a toy appropriate for that age group? I have picked up soft infant rattles and checked the tags. Are you aware that most of those stuffed animal infant rattles say 3 and up as though a 3 year old is going to all of a sudden have a dire need for a rattle?!?!?! I am highly confused at how they decide on what makes a toy safe for that age group. And quite honestly I am surprised they don’t put 3 and up on EVERY toy just for the sole fact that if something were to happen to a smaller child they couldn’t be sued because after all they did put a warning on the tag; especially since we ALL look at tags! I mean don’t you look at the tag of EVERY stuffed animal you buy your child? (This is sarcasm) lol anyways my children love this toy so I say forget you 3 and up toys! You make my 9 month old and 2 year old VERY happy 🙂
